Plain Fabric

I. Product Overview

Plain fabric is a woven fabric using a plain weave (warp and weft yarns interlace in an over-one-under-one pattern). It is mainly made from raw materials such as cotton, polyester, and cotton-polyester blends. With a simple structure and flat texture, it is the most basic and widely used category in textile fabrics.

II. Key Features

  • Stable structure: Balanced interlacing of warp and weft, not easy to deform, with good dimensional stability.
  • Good breathability: Uniform gaps between yarns, with better air and moisture permeability than twill or satin fabrics.
  • Strong wear resistance: Flat surface with even friction force, ensuring high durability.

III. Common Specifications

  • Raw materials: Pure cotton, pure polyester, cotton-polyester blends (e.g., 50% cotton + 50% polyester), etc.
  • Yarn count: Warp yarn 21S-60S, weft yarn 21S-45S (higher count fabrics are finer).
  • Density: Warp density 60-150 threads per inch, weft density 50-120 threads per inch.
  • Weight: 80-200g/m² (lightweight for shirts and underwear, medium-thick for casual wear).
  • Width: Conventional 145-150cm, customizable.

IV. Typical Applications

  • Clothing: Shirts, T-shirts, underwear, casual pants.
  • Home textiles: Bed sheets, quilt covers, handkerchiefs, tablecloths.
  • Industrial use: Lining cloth, packaging cloth, filter substrates.
