I. Product Overview

Photochromic MC Pigment is a microcapsule pigment that undergoes reversible color change upon exposure to ultraviolet/visible light. Composed of a photochromic core material encapsulated in a wall, it is suitable for fields such as coatings, inks, and plastics, enabling dynamic color effects that change with light.

II. Key Features

  • Reversible color change: Displays specific colors (e.g., blue, purple, red) under ultraviolet light, and reverts to the initial color (mostly colorless) when away from light.
  • Good weather resistance: Can undergo cyclic color change ≥5000 times, with a temperature resistance range of -30℃ to 80℃.
  • Easy to disperse: Microcapsules have uniform particle size, easily mixed into various substrates without affecting their processing performance.

III. Common Specifications

  • Appearance: Microcapsule powder, particle size 1-10μm, color change response time ≤30 seconds.
  • Colors: Colorless → blue/purple/red/yellow, etc. (customizable), color fastness ≥ level 4.
  • Stability: Storage period ≥12 months (under dark and dry conditions), with good solvent resistance.

Anti-counterfeiting inks, color matching for toy plastics, outdoor coatings, sunglass lenses, clothing printing.
