Epoxidized Soybean Oil产品实物图

Epoxidized Soybean Oil

I. Product Overview

Epoxidized soybean oil, a pale yellow viscous oily liquid derived from the epoxidation of natural soybean oil, is a common eco-friendly plasticizer and stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

II. Key Features

  • Strong stability: Excellent thermal and light stability, effectively inhibiting aging and discoloration of PVC products during processing and use, and improving weather resistance.
  • Good compatibility: Well compatible with PVC resin, enabling uniform dispersion to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Low toxicity and eco-friendliness: Extremely low toxicity, permitted by many countries worldwide for processing PVC products related to food packaging materials, meeting environmental requirements.

III. Common Specifications

  • Epoxy value: ≥6.0% (higher value indicates higher epoxidation degree and better stabilizing effect).
  • Color (APHA): ≤150 (lighter color has less impact on product color).
  • Acid value: ≤0.5mgKOH/g (low acid value reduces corrosion to processing equipment).
  • Iodine value: ≤6.0gI₂/100g (reflects unsaturation, indirectly affecting product stability).
  • Density: 0.988-0.999g/cm³.

IV. Typical Applications

Widely used in PVC artificial leather, such as furniture leather, automotive interior leather, and shoe leather, to enhance product flexibility and extend service life. Also suitable for PVC products with strict odor requirements.
