Recycled Polyester Fiber

Recycled Polyester Fiber

I. Product Overview

Recycled polyester fiber is made from waste polyester materials (such as plastic bottles and textile scraps) through melt spinning. It combines environmental properties with the excellent performance of polyester fiber, and is widely used in textiles, home textiles and other fields.

II. Key Features

  • Environmental friendliness: Reduces plastic waste, lowers crude oil consumption, and consumes about 50% less energy in production compared to virgin polyester.
  • Stable performance: Mechanical properties are close to virgin polyester, with good wrinkle resistance, wear resistance, easy care, and excellent chemical resistance.
  • Spinnability: Can be blended with natural fibers like cotton and wool or other synthetic fibers, adapting to various textile processes.

III. Common Specifications

  • Fineness: Normally 0.8-20 denier (D), selected according to usage (e.g., 1-3D for clothing, 6-15D for home textiles).
  • Length: Staple fibers are usually 38-102mm; filaments are continuous.
  • Form: Divided into staple fiber and filament. The surface can be treated as regular or profiled (e.g., hollow, triangular cross-section).
  • Color fastness: Good dyeing performance, with sunlight fastness generally reaching level 4-5 and washing fastness 3-4.

IV. Typical Applications

  • Apparel: Sportswear, casual wear, outerwear, etc.
  • Home textiles: Bedding, curtains, carpets.
  • Industrial fabrics: Shopping bags, tents, filter cloths, etc.
