Weft Knitted Fabric

I. Product Overview

Weft knitted fabric is a type of knitted fabric made by weaving one or more yarns sequentially along the transverse (weft) direction of the fabric, with loops interlocking to form the material. It is mostly made from raw materials such as cotton, polyester, acrylic, and blended yarns, featuring good elasticity and extensibility, and is a mainstream category of knitted fabrics.

II. Key Features

  • Excellent elasticity: The loop structure can stretch and rebound, offering good fit and high freedom of movement.
  • Soft handfeel: Fluffy texture with better breathability and comfort than woven fabrics.
  • Easy care: Strong wrinkle resistance, not easy to deform after washing, suitable for daily wear.

III. Common Specifications

  • Raw materials: Pure cotton, cotton-polyester blends (e.g., 95% cotton + 5% spandex), pure polyester, acrylic, etc.
  • Yarn count: 16S-60S (fine count yarns for underwear, coarse count yarns for sweatshirts).
  • Weight: 100-350g/m² (lightweight for T-shirt fabrics, heavyweight for outerwear).
  • Structure: Plain stitch, rib, double-faced, jacquard, etc. (affecting elasticity and appearance).
  • Width: 150-200cm, customizable.

IV. Typical Applications

  • Clothing: T-shirts, underwear, sweaters, sportswear, sweatshirts.
  • Home use: Pajamas, terry cloth, sofa covers.
  • Industrial use: Protective gear fabrics, baby products, etc.
