Vertical Flammability Tester

Vertical Flammability Tester

I. Product Overview

The vertical flammability tester is a specialized device for determining the combustion characteristics of materials in a vertical state. It ignites samples with a standardized fire source to evaluate their burning rate, afterburning time, flame retardant effect, etc. Widely used in flame retardancy testing of materials such as plastics, rubber, and textiles, it complies with international and domestic standards like UL, ISO, and GB.

II. Key Features

  • Standard fire source: Uses propane/butane gas flame, with precisely adjustable flame height (20-100mm) and temperature calibration in line with specifications.
  • Automatic testing: Equipped with an automatic ignition device and timer, it accurately records afterburning/glow time (accuracy ±0.1s) and supports automatic data storage.
  • Safety design: The test chamber is enclosed to prevent splashing, with a built-in fire extinguishing system and smoke exhaust device to ensure operational safety.

III. Common Specifications

  • Sample size: Regular 125×13×0.1-10mm (customizable fixtures for special samples).
  • Flame parameters: Temperature (1000±100)℃, burning angle 90°, ignition time adjustable from 0-60s.
  • Device parameters: Approximately 600×500×700mm in size, 220V power supply, power ≤300W.

IV. Typical Applications

Flame retardancy testing of electronic and electrical enclosures, vertical combustion evaluation of building materials, determination of flame retardant grades for protective clothing fabrics, and flame resistance testing of wire and cable insulation layers.
